Biography

When Graham Ko hits the stage, nobody sits still. Audience members lose themselves in the infectious, colourful melodies and lyrical messages. Graham is an accomplished guitarist with a soulful voice. His music can best be described as singer-songwriter, with a nod towards the stylings of John Mayer and Joey Landreth.

Graham’s musical journey began at the age of 9 when he started working in musical theatre, film and television. Much later, one of his shows was attended by musician Jann Arden, and her praise encouraged him to pursue music as a career. Graham holds a Bachelor of Music Degree (with honours) at Toronto’s prestigious Humber College. His schooling presented opportunities to work with veterans of the music industry, and he became a private student of the legendary Rik Emmett (of Triumph). Emmett taught him guitar and helped him develop the craft of songwriting.

Graham has released three albums to date, all of which have been met with praise. He has shared the stage with such artists as Tim Hicks, JoJo Mason, Sacha, Jess Moskaluke, Tyler Joe Miller, Mike Stern, The New York Voices, and Matt Burnett. Notable performances include, The Calgary Saddledome for the CCMA’s, Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas, headlining at Hamilton’s Victoria Day fireworks concert, Ossfest, and the TD Songs of the Summer Festival. Graham has toured Japan, playing shows throughout Tokyo and Okinawa.

Currently, Graham is working in the studio with his band, recording his next album.

“Graham has an amazingly versatile voice, from funky to country to bluesy to mainstream, smooth as you please.”

– Rik Emmett, Lead Singer/Guitarist of Triumph

“I don’t usually wait to see the full set of a band, but Graham’s music drew me in. Every song was so good I wanted to hear what the next song will be. Great songs, great singing, great guitar playing, and great band. I left feeling like there’s hope for music again.”

– Pat Rush (Allman Brothers band, Johnny Winter, Jeff Healey)
